Made out of rollable carbon-based nano-material, the Quii is a transparent portable keyboard that uses touch sensors and a textured surface to pick up input. Even though it’s transparent, it can work on almost any surface. It also has waterproof electric components that can repel dirt and spills. You can even use the roll canister on the end as a touch pad for the device. A really small and what looks quite clumsy touchpad, but a touchpad none-the-less. Help them fund it here

Carbon Fibre indoor RC plane NEW GADGET http://www.asksteve.co.za/carbon-fibre-indoor-rc-plane-new-gadget/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=carbon-fibre-indoor-rc-plane-new-gadget http://www.asksteve.co.za/carbon-fibre-indoor-rc-plane-new-gadget/#comments Wed, 05 Dec 2012 07:35:53 +0000 steve http://www.asksteve.co.za/?p=2436 How much does 3 grams of Carbon Fibre cost? About $160. The upside is that what you get for your money is probably the most indestructible remote controlled toy known to man. This indoor RC plane comes ready to fly and is as flexible as fiberglass and strong as steel. They say it flies only in a 12m x 16m room, so I assume that’s the range and all you’ll need for power are 4 AA batteries for the transmitter. The perfect Christmas gift? Sadly only if you live in the States of Canada cos they won’t ship internationally. Still…you’ll be able to tell your mates you own something made of Carbon Fibre. Get it: R1 800 From: http://www.owenandfred.com/products/indoor-remote-control-airplane?ref=5e4ff8157bef189b8b7d3fcdb19dbdfc7904bd00 Here it is in action:

Lowdi Bluetooth speakers http://www.asksteve.co.za/lowdi-bluetooth-speakers/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=lowdi-bluetooth-speakers http://www.asksteve.co.za/lowdi-bluetooth-speakers/#comments Wed, 05 Dec 2012 07:26:24 +0000 steve http://www.asksteve.co.za/?p=2429 If desirability had a name, it would be Lowdi! Not only is the name pretty witty, that yellow… OMG! It’s like owning a hot hatch with racing orange seatbelts. And then they package it in a brown box that implies that they’re a company that cares about the environment and knows you’re in to retro things. Ok, enough waxing. These portable Bluetooth 4.0 speakers make 80dB through two built-on 3W speakers. It’s portable obviously and recharges via USB after 8 hours of playback. It’s encased in a rubberized material that’ll survive most impacts and scratches, it’s easy to hold and volume can be adjusted on the device.

AmplifiEar turns your iPad into a symphony. Old school styles NEW GADGET http://www.asksteve.co.za/2459/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=2459 http://www.asksteve.co.za/2459/#comments Tue, 13 Nov 2012 09:43:17 +0000 steve http://www.asksteve.co.za/?p=2459 Now where other, lesser-creative gadget designers would spend their time and money trying to figure out ways to squeeze as many dBs as they can out of an expensive, name-brand speaker, NY based Non Linear Studio have opted instead to just amplify the existing on-board speakers of the iPad. It’s a real design flaw that when you’re watching a movie on your iPad, the speakers are on the back giving the audio to someone else. Using the concept of your grandpas Gramaphone, the AmplifiEar turns the sound of your existing iPad speakers reflects and redirects the sound towards you. This increases volume by up to 10dB. Brilliant name too! And it makes your iPad look like a Mickey Mouse amputee, which is a conversation-starter. Get it: From:
